The „Ożarowska” Association has for the third time received an
EU grant for the implementation of a system project organized by
the Warsaw Family Support Centre, called “Integration for
Independence”. This year’s sub-project is entitled “Destination
Independence – Step Three”. |
Project Information
The “Destination Independence – Step Three” project implemented by the
“Ożarowska” Association can be realized thanks to an EU grant, which the
“Ożarowska” Association has received from the European Social Fund as
part of the operational programme “Human Resources Development” –
Priority VII Sub-measure 7.1.2 The development and popularization of
active integration by district family support centers.
The “Ożarowska” Association has for the third time been given the chance
to implement a project financed by the European Union as part of the
system project realized by the Warsaw Family Support Centre, called
“Integration for Independence”. Just as it was in previous years, 22
members of our Association will take part in this project.
Each consecutive project allows us to continue working on what we have
achieved so far, as well as establish new goals for the participants.
Three years ago we started with simple individual tasks and group
endeavors. There was a lot of commotion and the level of activity and
will to make decisions varied among the participants.
Last year we practiced individual outings, decision-making, coping with
stressful situations. These of course are just some of the topics
covered. What was equally important for the participants, was the
ability to take part in regular physical exercises and the group outings
enabled them to form a stronger bond with their peers.
This year the project will last longer and cover a wide range of topics.
As usual, we will do everything we can to enable our participants to
achieve the greatest possible level of independence. And independence in
this case means the ability to communicate with people around us,
getting a job, coping with everyday problems.
The level of predisposition to lead an independent life varies from one
participant to the next. That is why this year we have divided them into
two groups. Group A will be focused on employment. They will learn how
to establish and run a social cooperative as well as learn more about
their professional profiles. Group B on the other hand, will work on
improving social interaction (alternative communication) and seek ways
that will allow them to function in the society to the best of their
abilities. Aside from main topics, everyone will take part in
informational meetings with representatives of the Department of Health
and Social Services, Social Welfare Centre and Job Agency. Also on the
agenda are lectures regarding sexuality, psychological support and the
help of personal assistants. We will also take care of our participants
in their free time – we have planned active weekends and an away day. Of
course there will also be plenty of physical exercises. We want to
realize all that till the end of October. So our participants have very
intense holidays ahead of them. Some activities will be conducted at
school situated at Deotymy 37 and the meetings in the fall will take
place in the registered seat of the association at Ożarowska 75a.
We are glad that we as the “Ożarowska” Association are able to provide
our members with improvement opportunities. We are also very happy that
You, our dear members are willing to capitalize on these opportunities
as much as possible.
